Jackie and Elaine Wilburn will be celebrating their 50th
wedding anniversary on Sunday, May 24, 2009. It just so
happens that they were married on a Sunday - May 24, 1959.

Jackie Wilburn started this 30 minute radio program when
The Wilburns first album, The Lighthouse, was released
in 1970.
He played the album in its entirety on that first
program, which was paid for by a local minister, but
since that time there has always been a sponsor. From
those early days Jackie Wilburn added his Spirit filled
introductions to the songs he played. Upon announcing
his "call to preach" some 6 years later, he began to
preach on the program also. Following a light stroke in
2005, he asked his wife, Elaine, to help with the
program. Same time, same station, same gospel music and
preaching - each Sunday morning. |
